2. And He said, Take now your son, your only one Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.

3. And Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.

4. And on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from a distance.

5. And Abraham said to his young men, Stay here with the donkey; and the lad and I will go over there and do homage, and we will come back to you.

6. దహనబలికి కట్టెలు తీసికొని తన కుమారుడగు ఇస్సాకుమీద పెట్టి తన చేతితో నిప్పును కత్తిని పట్టుకొని పోయెను. వారిద్దరు కూడి వెళ్లుచుండగా

6. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together.

7. ఇస్సాకు తన తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాముతో నా తండ్రీ అని పిలిచెను; అందుకతడు ఏమి నా కుమారుడా అనెను. అప్పుడతడు నిప్పును కట్టెలును ఉన్నవిగాని దహనబలికి గొఱ్ఱెపిల్ల ఏది అని అడుగగా

7. And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, My father. And he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold, the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8. అబ్రాహాము నాకుమారుడా, దేవుడే దహనబలికి గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లను చూచుకొనునని చెప్పెను.

8. And Abraham said, My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering. So the two of them went together.

9. ఆలాగు వారిద్దరు కూడి వెళ్లి దేవుడు అతనితో చెప్పినచోటికి వచ్చినప్పుడు అబ్రాహాము అక్కడ బలి పీఠమును కట్టి కట్టెలు చక్కగా పేర్చి తన కుమారుడగు ఇస్సాకును బంధించి ఆ పీఠముపైనున్న కట్టెలమీద ఉంచెను.

9. And they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.

10. అప్పుడు అబ్రాహాము తన కుమారుని వధించుటకు తన చెయ్యి చాపి కత్తి పట్టుకొనగా

10. And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

11. యెహోవా దూత పరలోకమునుండి అబ్రాహామా అబ్రాహామా అని అతని పిలిచెను; అందుకతడు చిత్తము ప్రభువా అనెను.

11. And the Angel of Jehovah called to him from the heavens and said, Abraham! Abraham! And he said, Here am I.

12. అప్పుడు ఆయన ఆ చిన్నవాని మీద చెయ్యి వేయకుము; అతని నేమియు చేయకుము; నీకు ఒక్కడైయున్న నీ కుమారుని నాకియ్య వెనుతీయ లేదు గనుక నీవు దేవునికి భయపడువాడవని యిందువలన నాకు కనపడుచున్నదనెను

12. And He said, Do not lay your hand upon the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only one from Me.

13. అప్పుడు అబ్రాహాము కన్ను లెత్తి చూడగా పొదలో కొమ్ములు తగులుకొనియున్న ఒక పొట్టేలు వెనుక తట్టున కనబడెను. అబ్రాహాము వెళ్లి ఆ పొట్టేలును పట్టుకొని తన కుమారునికి మారుగా పెట్టి దహనబలిగా అర్పించెను

13. And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

14. అబ్రాహాము ఆ చోటికి యెహోవా యీరే అను పేరు పెట్టెను. అందుచేత యెహోవా పర్వతము మీద చూచుకొనును అని నేటి వరకు చెప్పబడును.

14. And Abraham called the name of the place, Jehovah Jireh; as it is said to this day, In the Mount of Jehovah it shall be seen.

15. యెహోవా దూత రెండవ మారు పరలోకమునుండి అబ్రాహామును పిలిచి యిట్లనెను

15. And the Angel of Jehovah called to Abraham a second time out of the heavens,

16. నీవు నీకు ఒక్కడే అయ్యున్న నీ కుమారుని ఇయ్య వెనుకతీయక యీ కార్యము చేసినందున

16. and said: By Myself I have sworn, says Jehovah, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only one;

17. నేను నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించి ఆకాశ నక్షత్రముల వలెను సముద్రతీరమందలి యిసుకవలెను నీ సంతానమును నిశ్చయముగా విస్తరింపచేసెదను; నీ సంతతి వారు తమ శత్రువుల గవిని స్వాధీనపరచుకొందురు.

17. that in blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore. And your Seed shall possess the gate of His enemies.

18. And in your Seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.

19. So Abraham returned to his young men, and they arose and went together to Beer- sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.

20. ఆ సంగతులు జరిగిన తరువాత అబ్రాహామునకు తెలుపబడినదేమనగా మిల్కా అను ఆమెయు నీ సహోదరుడగు నాహోరునకు పిల్లలను కనెను.

20. And it came to pass after these things that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor:

21. వారు ఎవరెవరనగా అతని జ్యేష్టకుమారుడైన ఊజు, ఇతని తమ్ముడైన బూజు, అరాము తండ్రియైన కెమూయేలు,

21. Uz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram,

22. కెసెదు, హజో, షిల్దాషు, యిద్లాపు, బెతూయేలు. బెతూయేలు రిబ్కాను కనెను.

22. Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.

23. ఆ యెనిమిది మందిని మిల్కా అబ్రాహాము సహోదరుడగు నాహోరునకు కనెను.

23. And Bethuel begot Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

24. And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore Tebah, Gaham, Thahash, and Maachah.
