1. And Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, heard all that God had done for Moses and for His people Israel; that Jehovah had brought Israel out of Egypt.

2. And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife (after Moses had sent her away),

6. And he said to Moses, I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons with her.

7. మోషే తన మామను ఎదుర్కొన పోయి వందనము చేసి అతని ముద్దు పెట్టుకొనెను. వారు ఒకరి క్షేమము ఒకరు తెలిసికొని గుడారములోనికి వచ్చిరి.

7. And Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, bowed down, and kissed him. And they asked each other about their welfare, and they went into the tent.

8. తరువాత మోషే యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల కొరకు ఫరోకును ఐగుప్తీయులకును చేసిన దంతయు, త్రోవలో తమకు వచ్చిన కష్టము యావత్తును, యెహోవా తమ్మును విడిపించిన సంగతియు తన మామతో వివరించి చెప్పెను.

8. And Moses told his father-in-law all that Jehovah had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians on account of Israel, all the distress that they had encountered along the way, and how Jehovah had delivered them.

9. యెహోవా ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిలొ నుండి విడిపించి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు చేసిన మేలంతటిని గూర్చి యిత్రో సంతోషించెను.

9. And Jethro rejoiced for all the good which Jehovah had done for Israel, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.

10. మరియు యిత్రో ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిలోనుండియు ఫరో చేతిలో నుండియు మిమ్మును విడిపించి, ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిక్రిందనుండి ఈ ప్రజలను విడిపించిన యెహోవా స్తుతింపబడునుగాక.

10. And Jethro said, Blessed be Jehovah, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.

11. ఐగుప్తీయులు గర్వించి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద చేసిన దౌర్జన్యమునుబట్టి ఆయన చేసినదాని చూచి, యెహోవా సమస్త దేవతలకంటె గొప్పవాడని యిప్పుడు నాకు తెలిసినదనెను.

11. Now I know that Jehovah is greater than all the gods; for in the very things in which they behaved proudly, He was above them.

12. మరియు మోషే మామయైన యిత్రో ఒక దహనబలిని బలులను దేవునికర్పింపగా అహరోనును ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పెద్దలందరును మోషే మామతో దేవుని సన్నిధిని భోజనము చేయవచ్చిరి.

12. And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices unto God. And Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses' father-in-law before God.

13. మరునాడు మోషే ప్రజలకు న్యాయము తీర్చుటకు కూర్చుండగా, ఉదయము మొదలుకొని సాయంకాలము వరకు ప్రజలు మోషే యొద్ద నిలిచియుండిరి.

13. And so it was, on the next day, that Moses sat to judge the people; and the people stood before Moses from morning until evening.

14. మోషే ప్రజలకు చేసినదంతయు అతని మామ చూచి - నీవు ఈ ప్రజలకు చేయుచున్న యీ పని ఏమిటి? ఉదయము మొదలుకొని సాయంకాలమువరకు నీవు మాత్రము కూర్చుండగా ప్రజలందరు నీయొద్ద నిలిచి యుండనేల అని అడుగగా

14. And when Moses' father-in-law saw all that he did for the people, he said, What is this thing that you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit, and all the people stand before you from morning until evening?

15. మోషే దేవుని తీర్పు తెలిసి కొనుటకు ప్రజలు నా యొద్దకు వచ్చెదరు.

15. And Moses said to his father-in-law, Because the people come to me to inquire of God.

16. వారికి వ్యాజ్యెము ఏదైనను కలిగినయెడల నా యొద్దకు వచ్చెదరు. నేను వారి విషయము న్యాయము తీర్చి, దేవుని కట్టడలను ఆయన ధర్మశాస్త్రవిధులను వారికి తెలుపుచున్నానని తన మామతో చెప్పెను.

16. When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor; and I make known the statutes of God and His Laws.

17. అందుకు మోషే మామ అతనితో నీవు చేయుచున్న పని మంచిది కాదు;

17. And Moses' father-in-law said to him, The thing that you do is not good.

18. నీవును నీతో నున్న యీ ప్రజలును నిశ్చయముగా నలిగిపోవుదురు; ఈ పని నీకు మిక్కిలి భారము, అది నీవు ఒక్కడవే చేయచాలవు.

18. Both you and these people who are with you will droop to exhaustion. For this thing is too much of a burden for you; you are not able to do it by yourself.

19. కాబట్టి నా మాట వినుము. నేను నీకొక ఆలోచన చెప్పెదను. దేవుడు నీకు తోడైయుండును, ప్రజల పక్షమున నీవు దేవుని సముఖమందు ఉండి వారి వ్యాజ్యెములను దేవుని యొద్దకు తేవలెను.

19. Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God be with you: Be before God for the people, so that you may bring the matters to God.

20. నీవు వారికి ఆయన కట్టడలను ధర్మశాస్త్రవిధులను బోధించి, వారు నడవవలసిన త్రోవను వారు చేయవలసిన కార్యములను వారికి తెలుపవలెను.

20. And you shall teach them the statutes and the Laws, and show them the way in which they should walk and the work they should do.

21. Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, who fear God, men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place these over them as rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

22. వారు ఎల్లప్పుడును ప్రజలకు న్యాయము తీర్చవలెను. అయితే గొప్ప వ్యాజ్యెములన్నిటిని నీయొద్దకు తేవలెను. ప్రతి అల్పవిషయమును వారే తీర్చవచ్చును. అట్లు వారు నీతో కూడ ఈ భారమును మోసిన యెడల నీకు సుళువుగా ఉండును.

22. And let them judge the people at all times. Then it will be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier for you, and they shall bear the burden with you.

23. దేవుడు ఈలాగు చేయుటకు నీకు సెలవిచ్చినయెడల నీవు ఈ పని చేయుచు దాని భారమును సహింపగలవు. మరియు ఈ ప్రజలందరు తమ తమ చోట్లకు సమాధానముగా వెళ్లుదురని చెప్పెను.

23. If you do this thing, and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this people will also go to their place in peace.

24. మోషే తన మామ మాట విని అతడు చెప్పినదంతయు చేసెను.

24. So Moses heeded the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said.

25. And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people: rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

26. వారెల్లప్పుడును ప్రజలకు న్యాయము తీర్చువారు. వారు కఠిన వ్యాజ్యెములను మోషే యొద్దకు తెచ్చుచు, స్వల్ప వ్యాజ్యెములను తామే తీర్చుచువచ్చిరి.

26. And they judged the people at all times; the hard matters they brought to Moses, but they judged every small matter themselves.

27. తరువాత మోషే తన మామను పంపివేయగా అతడు తన స్వదేశమునకు వెళ్లెను.

27. And Moses sent his father-in-law away, and he departed to his own land.
