1. మనష్షే యోసేపు పెద్దకుమారుడు గనుక అతని గోత్రమునకు, అనగా మనష్షే పెద్ద కుమారుడును గిలాదు దేశాధిపతియునైన మాకీరునకు చీట్లవలన వంతువచ్చెను. అతడు యుద్ధవీరుడైనందున అతనికి గిలాదును బాషానును వచ్చెను.

1. And the lot came for the tribe of Manasseh, for he was the first-born of Joseph, to Machir the first-born of Manasseh, father of Gilead, for he had been a man of battle, and he had Gilead and Bashan.

2. And there was a lot remaining for the sons of Manasseh, for their families, for the sons of Abiezer, and for the sons of Helek, and for the sons of Asriel, and for the sons of Shechem, and for the sons of Hepher, and for the sons of Shemida; these being the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.

4. And they drew near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the rulers, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give to us an inheritance among our brothers; and at the mouth of Jehovah he gave to them an inheritance among their father's brothers.

5. కాబట్టి యొర్దాను అద్దరినున్న గిలాదు బాషానులుగాక మనష్షీయులకు పదివంతులు హెచ్చుగా వచ్చెను.

5. And ten portions fell to Manasseh, besides that from the land of Gilead and Bashan beyond the Jordan;

6. ఏల యనగా మనష్షీయుల స్త్రీ సంతానమును వారి పురుష సంతానమును స్వాస్థ్యములు పొందెను. గిలాదుదేశము తక్కిన మనష్షీయులకు స్వాస్థ్యమాయెను.

6. because the daughters of Manasseh had inherited an inheritance among his sons; and the land of Gilead belonged to the sons of Manasseh who remained.

7. మనష్షీయుల సరిహద్దు ఆషేరునుండి షెకెమునకు తూర్పుగానున్న మిక్మెతావరకును దక్షిణమున ఏన్తప్పూయ నివాసులవైపునకు వ్యాపించెను.

7. And the border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, which fronts on Shechem. And the border went up to the right to the ones living in En-tappuah.

8. తప్పూయదేశము మనష్షీయులదాయెను; అయితే మనష్షీయుల సరిహద్దులోని తప్పూయ ఎఫ్రాయి మీయులదాయెను.

8. The land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh, but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the sons of Ephraim.

9. ఆ సరిహద్దు కానాయేటి దక్షిణ దిక్కున ఆ యేటివరకు వ్యాపించెను. మనష్షీయుల ఊళ్లలో ఆ ఊళ్లు ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులకు కలిగెను; అయితే మనష్షీయుల సరిహద్దు ఆ యేటికి ఉత్తరముగా సముద్రము వరకు వ్యాపించెను. దక్షిణ భూమి ఎఫ్రాయిమీయుల కును ఉత్తరభూమి మనష్షీయులకును కలిగెను.

9. And the border went down to the river Kanah, south of the river; these cities of Ephraim were in the midst of the cities of Manasseh, and the border of Manasseh was on the north of the river, and its boundary line was at the sea.

10. సముద్రము వారి సరిహద్దు; ఉత్తరదిక్కున అది ఆషేరీయుల సరిహద్దుకును, తూర్పుదిక్కున ఇశ్శాఖారీయుల సరిహద్దుకును నడిచెను.

10. Southward, it was Ephraim's. And northward, it was Manasseh's, and the sea was its border. And they met in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.

11. ఇశ్శాఖారీయుల ప్రదేశములోను ఆషేరీయుల ప్రదేశములోను బేత్షెయాను దాని పురములును ఇబ్లెయామును దాని పురములును దోరు నివాసులును దాని పురములును ఏన్దోరు నివాసులును దాని పురములును తానాకు నివాసులును దాని పురములును మెగిద్దో నివాసులును దాని పురములును, అనగా మూడు కొండల ప్రదేశము మనష్షీయులకు కలిగి యున్నది.

11. And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher, Beth-shean and its daughter-villages, and Ibleam and its daughter-villages, and the ones living in Dor and its daughter-villages, and the ones living in Endor and its daughter-villages, and the ones living in Taanach and its daughter-villages, and the ones living in Megiddo and its daughter-villages; three regions.

12. కనానీయులు ఆ దేశములో నివసింపవలెనని గట్టిపట్టు పట్టి యుండిరి గనుక మనష్షీయులు ఆ పురములను స్వాధీనపరచుకొనలేక పోయిరి.

12. But the sons of Manasseh had not been able to dispossess these cities, for the Canaanite determined to live in this land.

13. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు బలవంతులైన తరువాత వారు కనానీయుల చేత వెట్టిపనులు చేయించుకొనిరి కాని వారి దేశమును పూర్తిగా స్వాధీనపరచుకొనలేదు.

13. And it happened, when the sons of Israel became strong, they put the Canaanites to tribute, but did not completely dispossess them.

14. అప్పుడు యోసేపు పుత్రులు యెహోషువతో మాకేల ఒక్క చీటితో ఒక్క వంతునే స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇచ్చితివి? మేము ఒక గొప్ప జనమేగదా? ఇదివరకు యెహోవా మమ్మును దీవించెనని మనవిచేయగా

14. And the sons of Joseph spoke with Joshua, saying, Why have you given to me one lot and one portion as an inheritance, since I am a numerous people? For Jehovah has blessed me until now.

15. యెహోషువ మీరు గొప్ప జనము గనుక ఎఫ్రాయిమీయుల యొక్క మన్యము మీకు ఇరుకుగా నున్న యెడల మీరు అడవికి పోయి అక్కడ పెరిజ్జీయుల దేశములోను రెఫాయీయుల దేశములోను మీకు మీరే చెట్లు నరకుకొనుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

15. And Joshua said to them, If you are a numerous people, go up to the forest for yourself, and you shall cut down for yourself there in the land of the Perizzite, and of the giants, if Mount Ephraim is too narrow for you.

16. అందుకు యోసేపు పుత్రులు ఆ మన్యము మాకుచాలదు; అదియుగాక పల్లపుచోటున నివసించు కనానీయుల కందరికి, అనగా బేత్షెయానులోని వారికిని దాని పురముల లోని వారికిని యెజ్రెయేలు లోయలోని వారికిని ఇనుప రథములున్నవనిరి.

16. And the sons of Joseph said, The hills will not be acquired for us. And every Canaanite who lives in the land of the valley has a chariot of iron, those that are of Beth-shean and its daughter-villages, and of him who is in the valley of Jezreel.

17. అప్పడు యెహోషువ యోసేపు పుత్రులైన ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులను మనష్షీయులను చూచిమీరు ఒక విస్తారజనము,

17. And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, You are a numerous people, and have great power; you shall not have one lot,

18. మీకు అధికబలముగలదు, మీకు ఒక్కవంతు చీటియేకాదు; ఆ కొండ మీదే, అది అరణ్యము గనుక మీరు దానిని నరకుడి, అప్పుడు ఆ ప్రదేశము మీదగును; కనానీయులకు ఇనుపరథములుండినను వారు బలవంతులైయుండినను మీరు వారి దేశమును స్వాధీన పరచుకొనగలరనెను.

18. because the hill is yours; because it is a forest, you shall cut it down, and its outer limits shall be yours; for you shall dispossess the Canaanite, even though it has chariots of iron; even though it is strong.
