1. దావీదు అలసట నొంది బలహీనముగా నున్నాడు గనుక

1. Ahithophel also said vnto Absalom: Let me choose out now twelue thousand men, and I wil vp and folowe after Dauid this night:

2. నేను అతనిమీద పడి అతని బెదరించినయెడల అతని యొద్దనున్న జనులందరు పారిపోదురు; రాజును మాత్రము హతముచేసి జనులందరిని నీతట్టు త్రిప్పెదను;

2. And I wil come vpo him whyle he is weery and weake handed, and will feare him: And all the people that are with him, shall flee, and so will I smite the king only,

3. నీవు వెదకు మనిషిని నేను పట్టుకొనగా జనులందరు వచ్చి నీతో సమాధానపడుదురు గనుక నీ చిత్తమైతే నేను పండ్రెండు వేలమందిని ఏర్పరచుకొనిపోయి యీ రాత్రి దావీదును తరిమి పట్టుకొందునని అహీతోపెలు అబ్షాలోముతో చెప్పగా

3. And wil bring againe all the people vnto thee: and when al shall returne, the man whom thou sekest [beyng slayne] all the people shalbe in peace.

4. ఈ బోధ అబ్షాలోమునకును ఇశ్రాయేలువారి పెద్దలకందరికిని యుక్తముగా కనబడెను.

4. And the saying pleased Absalom wel and al the elders of Israel.

5. అంతట అర్కీయుడైన హూషై యేమి చెప్పునో మనము వినునట్లు అతని పిలువనంపుడని అబ్షాలోము ఆజ్ఞ ఇయ్యగా, హూషై అబ్షాలోమునొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

5. Then sayde Absalom: Cal nowe Husai the Arachite also, and let vs heare lykewyse what he sayth.

6. అబ్షాలోము అహీతోపెలు చెప్పిన ఆలోచన అతనికి తెలియజేసి అతని మాటచొప్పున మనము చేయుదమా చేయకుందుమా? నీ యాలోచన యేమైనది చెప్పుమని అతని నడుగగా

6. When Husai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake vnto him, saying: Ahithophel hath geuen such counsel: Shal we do after his saying, or no? tell thou.

7. హూషై అబ్షాలోముతో ఇట్లనెను. ఈసారి అహీతోపెలు చెప్పిన ఆలోచన మంచిది కాదు.

7. Husai aunswered vnto Absalom: The counsel that Ahithophel hath geuen, is not good at this time.

8. నీ తండ్రియు అతని పక్షమున నున్నవారును మహా బలాఢ్యులనియు, అడవిలో పిల్లలను పోగొట్టుకొనిన యెలుగుబంట్ల వంటివారై రేగిన మనస్సుతో ఉన్నారనియు నీకు తెలియును. మరియు నీ తండ్రి యుద్ధమునందు ప్రవీణుడు, అతడు జనులతో కూడ బసచేయడు.

8. For sayde Husai, thou knowest thy father & his men howe that they be strong men, and they be chased in their mindes, and are euen as a Beare robbed of her whelpes in the fielde: Thy father is a man also practised in warre, and wil not lodge with the people.

9. అతడేదో యొక గుహయందో మరి ఏ స్థలమందో దాగి యుండును. కాబట్టి నీవారిలో కొందరు యుద్ధారంభ మందు కూలగా చూచి జనులు వెంటనే ఆ సంగతినిబట్టి అబ్షాలోము పక్షమున నున్నవారు ఓడిపోయిరని చెప్పు కొందురు.

9. Behold he is hyd nowe in some caue, or in some other place: And though some of his men be ouerthrowen at the first brunt, yet they that heare it, will say: The people that foloweth Absalom, be put to the worse.

10. నీ తండ్రి మహా బలాఢ్యుడనియు, అతని పక్షపువారు ధైర్యవంతులనియు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరును ఎరుగుదురు గనుక సింహపుగుండెవంటి గుండెగలవారు సయితము దిగులొందుదురు.

10. And he also that is valiaunt, whose heart is as ye heart of a Lio, shal shrink and faynt: For all Israel knoweth, that thy father is a mightie man, and they which be with him are stout men.

11. కాబట్టి నా ఆలోచన యేమనగా, దానునుండి బెయేర్షెబావరకు లెక్కకు సముద్రపు ఇసుక రేణువులంత విస్తారముగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల నందరిని నలుదిశలనుండి నీ యొద్దకు సమకూర్చి నీవు స్వయముగా యుద్ధమునకు పోవలెను.

11. Therfore my counsell is, that al Israel be gathered vnto thee fro Dan to Beerseba, as the sande of the sea in numbre, and that thou go to battayle in thyne owne person.

12. అప్పుడు మనము అతడు కనబడిన స్థలములలో ఏదో యొకదానియందు అతనిమీద పడుదుము; నేలమీద మంచుపడురీతిగా మనము అతనిమీదికి వచ్చినయెడల అతని పక్షపువారిలో ఒకడును తప్పించుకొనజాలడు.

12. For so shall we come vpon him in one place or other where we shal finde him, and we wil fal vpon him, euen as thicke as the deawe falleth on ye ground: And of al the men that are with him, we shal not leaue him one.

13. అతడు ఒక పట్టణములో చొచ్చినయెడల ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరును ఆ పట్టణమునకు త్రాళ్లు తీసికొనివచ్చి యొక చిన్న రాయి అచ్చట కనబడకుండ దానిని నదిలోనికి లాగుదురు.

13. Moreouer, if he be gotten into a towne, then shall al the men of Israel bring ropes to that citie, and we will drawe it into the riuer, vntil ther be not one small stone founde there.

14. అబ్షాలోమును ఇశ్రాయేలువారందరును ఈ మాట విని అర్కీయుడగు హూషై చెప్పిన ఆలోచన అహీతోపెలు చెప్పినదానికంటె యుక్తమని యొప్పు కొనిరి; ఏలయనగా యెహోవా అబ్షాలోముమీదికి ఉపద్రవమును రప్పింపగలందులకై అహీతోపెలు చెప్పిన యుక్తిగల ఆలోచనను వ్యర్థముచేయ నిశ్చయించి యుండెను.

14. And Absalom and all the men of Israel sayde: The counsel of Husai the Arachite, is better then the counsell of Ahithophel. For it was euen the Lordes determination to destroy the good counsell of Ahithophel, that the Lorde might bring euyll vpon Absalom.

15. కాబట్టి హూషై అబ్షాలోమునకును ఇశ్రాయేలువారి పెద్దలకందరికిని అహీతోపెలు చెప్పిన ఆలోచనను తాను చెప్పిన ఆలోచనను యాజకులగు సాదోకుతోను అబ్యా తారుతోను తెలియజెప్పి

15. Then sayde Husai vnto Sadoc & Abiathar the priestes: Of this & that maner did Ahithophel and the elders of Israel counsel Absalom, and thus & thus haue I counsayled.

16. మీరు త్వరపడి ఈ రాత్రి అరణ్యమందు ఏరు దాటు స్థలములలో ఉండవద్దనియు, రాజును అతని సమక్షమందున్న జనులందరును నశింప కుండునట్లు శీఘ్రముగా వెళ్లిపోవుడనియు దావీదునకు వర్తమానము పంపుడని చెప్పెను.

16. Nowe therfore send quickly, & shewe Dauid, saying: Tarie not this night in ye fieldes of the wildernesse, but get thee ouer, lest the king be deuoured, & all the people that are with him.

17. తాము పట్టణముతట్టు వచ్చిన సంగతి తెలియబడక యుండునట్లు యోనాతానును అహిమయస్సును ఏన్‌రోగేలు దగ్గర నిలిచియుండగా పని కత్తెయొకతెవచ్చి, హూషై చెప్పిన సంగతిని వారికి తెలియజేయగా వారు వచ్చి రాజైన దావీదుతో దాని తెలియజెప్పిరి.

17. Now Ionathan and Ahimaaz abode by the well Rogel: (for they might not be seene to come into the citie) and a wench went and told them: And they went, and shewed king Dauid.

18. తాను వారిని కనుగొనిన సంగతి పనివాడు ఒకడు అబ్షాలోమునకు తెలిపెను గాని వారిద్దరు వేగిరముగా పోయి బహూరీములో ఒకని యిల్లు చేరి అతని యింటి ముంగిట ఒక బావి యుండగా దానిలో దిగి దాగి యుండిరి.

18. Neuerthelesse, a lad sawe them, and tolde it to Absalom: But they went both of them away quickly, & came to a mans house in Bahurim, which had a well in his yarde, into the whiche they went downe.

19. ఆ యింటి యిల్లాలు ముతక గుడ్డ యొకటి తీసికొనివచ్చి బావిమీద పరచి దానిపైన గోధుమపిండి ఆర బోసెను గనుక వారు దాగిన సంగతి యెవరికిని తెలియక పోయెను.

19. And the wyfe toke and spread a couerlet ouer the welles mouth, & spread ground corne theron: and the thing was not spied.

20. అబ్షాలోము సేవకులు ఆ యింటి ఆమెయొద్దకు వచ్చి అహిమయస్సును యోనాతానును ఎక్కడ ఉన్నారని అడుగగా ఆమెవారు ఏరుదాటి పోయిరని వారితో చెప్పెను గనుక వారు పోయి వెదకి వారిని కానక యెరూషలేమునకు తిరిగి వచ్చిరి.

20. And when Absaloms seruauntes came to the wyfe to the house, they sayde: Where is Ahimaaz & Ionathan? The woman aunswered the: They be gone ouer the brooke of water. And whe they had sought them, and coulde not finde them, they returned to Hierusalem.

21. వారు వెళ్లిన తరువాత యోనాతానును అహిమయస్సును బావిలోనుండి బయటికి వచ్చి దావీదునొద్దకు పోయి అహీతోపెలు అతనిమీద చేసిన ఆలోచన తెలియజేసినీవు లేచి త్వరగా నది దాటవలసినదని అతనితో చెప్పగా

21. And assoone as they were departed, the other came out of the wel, and went and tolde king Dauid, and sayde vnto him: Up, and get you quickly ouer the water, for suche counsel hath Ahithophel geuen against you.

22. దావీదును అతని యొద్దనున్న జనులందరును లేచి యొర్దానునది దాటిరి, తెల్లవారునప్పటికి నది దాటక యుండినవాడు ఒకడును లేకపోయెను.

22. Then Dauid arose, and all the people that were with him, & they were come ouer Iordane by that it was day: so that there lacked not one of them: that was not come ouer Iordane.

23. అహీతోపెలు తాను చెప్పిన ఆలోచన జరుగకపోవుట చూచి, గాడిదకు గంతకట్టి యెక్కి తన ఊరనున్న తన యింటికి పోయి తన యిల్లు చక్కబెట్టుకొని ఉరిపోసికొని చనిపోయెను; జనులు అతని తండ్రి సమాధియందు అతనిని పాతిపెట్టిరి.

23. And when Ahithophel sawe that his counsel was not folowed, he sadled his Asse, and arose and gate him home to his owne house, and to his owne citie, & put his housholde in order, and hanged him selfe, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.

24. దావీదు మహనయీమునకు రాగా అబ్షాలోమును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరును యొర్దాను నది దాటి వచ్చిరి.

24. Then Dauid came to Mahanaim, And Absalom passed ouer Iordane, he and all the men of Israel with him.

25. అబ్షాలోము యోవాబునకు మారుగా అమాశాను సైన్యాధి పతిగా నియమించెను. ఈ అమాశా ఇత్రా అను ఇశ్రా యేలీయుడు యోవాబు తల్లియైన సెరూయా సహోదరి యగు నాహాషు కుమార్తెయైన అబీగయీలు నొద్దకు పోయి నందున పుట్టినవాడు

25. And Absalom made Amasa captaine of the hoast in stede of Ioab: which Amasa, was a mans sonne named Iethra an Israelite, that went into Abigail the daughter of Nahas, sister to Zaruia Ioabs mother.

26. అబ్షాలోమును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులును గిలాదుదేశములో దిగియుండిరి.

26. So Israel and Absalom pitched in the land of Gilead.

27. దావీదు మహనయీమునకు వచ్చినప్పుడు అమ్మోనీ యుల రబ్బా పట్టణపువాడైన నాహాషు కుమారుడగుషోబీయును, లోదెబారు ఊరివాడగు అమీ్మయేలు కుమారు డైన మాకీరును, రోగెలీము ఊరివాడును గిలాదీయుడునైన బర్జిల్లయియు

27. And when Dauid was come to Mahanaim, Sobi the sonne of Nahas, out of Rabba of the children of Ammon, & Machir the sonne of Ammiel out of Lodeber, and Barzellai the Gileadite out of Rogelim,

28. అరణ్యమందు జనులు అలసినవారై ఆకలిగొని దప్పిగొనియుందురని తలంచి, పరుపులు పాత్రలు కుండలు గోధుమలు యవలు పిండి వేచిన గోధుమలు కాయధాన్యములు చిక్కుడు కాయలు పేలాలు

28. Brought beddes, basens, earthen vessels, wheat and barly, floure & parched corne, beanes, lentiles, & parched pulse,

29. తేనె వెన్న గొఱ్ఱెలు జున్నుముద్దలు దావీదును అతనియొద్దనున్న జనులును భోజనము చేయుటకై తీసికొనివచ్చిరి.

29. Hony, butter, sheepe, & cheese of kyne, for Dauid and for the people that were with him, to eate: For they sayde, The people is hungry, weery, and thirstie, in the wildernesse.
