1. After Ach'av's death Mo'av rebelled against Isra'el.

2. When Achazyah fell through a latticed window of his upper room in Shomron and lay injured, he sent messengers and said to them, 'Go, consult Ba'al-Z'vuv the god of 'Ekron, and ask whether I will recover from this injury.'

3. But an angel of ADONAI said to Eliyahu from Tishbe, 'Get up, and intercept the messengers of the king of Shomron, and ask them, 'Is it because there's no God in Isra'el that you're on your way to consult Ba'al-Z'vuv the god of 'Ekron?

4. కాగా యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగానీవెక్కిన మంచము మీదనుండి దిగిరాకుండ నీవు నిశ్చయముగా మరణమవు దువు అని ఏలీయా వారితో చెప్పి వెళ్లిపోయెను.

4. Therefore ADONAI says, 'You will never leave the bed you are lying on; you will certainly die.''' Then Eliyahu left.

5. తరు వాత ఆ దూతలు రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చిరి. మీరెందుకు తిరిగి వచ్చితిరని అతడు వారి నడుగగా

5. The messengers returned to Achazyah, and he asked them, 'Why have you come back?'

6. They answered him, 'A man came to meet us. He told us to go and return to the king who sent us, and tell him, 'Here is what ADONAI says: 'Is it because there's no God in Isra'el that you're sending to consult Ba'al-Z'vuv the god of 'Ekron? Therefore you will never leave the bed you are lying on; you will certainly die.'''

7. మిమ్మును ఎదుర్కొనవచ్చి యీ మాట చెప్పినవాడు ఏలాటివాడని రాజు అడిగెను.

7. He asked them, 'The man who came to meet you and told you these things, what kind of a man was he?'

8. అందుకు వారు అతడు గొంగళి ధరించుకొని నడుమునకు తోలుదట్టి కట్టుకొనినవాడని ప్రత్యుత్తరమియ్యగాఆ మనుష్యుడు తిష్బీయుడైన ఏలీయా అని అతడు చెప్పెను.

8. He was a hairy man,' they answered him, 'with a leather belt around his waist.' He said, 'It was Eliyahu from Tishbe.'

9. Then the king sent a commander of fifty to Eliyahu, together with his fifty men. Eliyahu was sitting at the top of a hill. The commander climbed up to him and said, 'Man of God, the king says to come down.'

10. అందుకు ఏలీయానేను దైవజనుడనైతే అగ్ని ఆకాశమునుండి దిగివచ్చి నిన్ను నీ యేబదిమందిని దహించునుగాక అని యేబదిమందికి అధిపతియైన వానితో చెప్పగా, అగ్ని ఆకాశమునుండి దిగి వానిని వాని యేబదిమందిని దహించెను.

10. Eliyahu answered the commander of fifty, 'If I am in fact a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and burn you up, along with your fifty men.' Fire came down from heaven, and it burned up him and his fifty men.

11. మరల రాజు ఏబది మందిమీద అధిపతియైన మరియొకనిని వాని యేబదిమందితోకూడ పంపగా వీడువచ్చిదైవజనుడా, త్వరగా దిగి రమ్మని రాజు ఆజ్ఞాపించుచున్నాడనెను.

11. The king sent him another commander of fifty, together with his fifty men. He said to him, 'Man of God, the king says, 'Come down immediately!''

12. అందుకు ఏలీయానేను దైవజనుడనైతే అగ్ని ఆకాశము నుండి దిగివచ్చి నిన్ను నీ యేబదిమందిని దహించునుగాక అని చెప్పగా, ఆకాశమునుండి దేవుని అగ్ని దిగి వానిని వాని యేబదిమందిని దహించెను.

12. Eliyahu answered them, 'If I am in fact a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and burn you up, along with your fifty men.' Fire came down from heaven, and it burned up him and his fifty men.

13. ఇంకను రాజు ఏబది మందికి అధిపతియైన యొకనిని వాని ఏబదిమందితో కూడ పంపగా ఏబదిమంది మీద అధిపతియైన ఆ మూడవవాడు వచ్చి ఏలీయా యెదుట మోకాళ్లూనిదైవజనుడా, దయ చేసి నా ప్రాణమును నీదాసులైన యీ యేబదిమంది ప్రాణములను నీ దృష్టికి ప్రియమైనవిగా ఉండనిమ్ము.

13. The king sent a third commander of fifty, with his fifty men. The third commander of fifty climbed up, approached Eliyahu and fell on his knees before him. He pleaded with him: 'Man of God, please! Have some regard for my life and the lives of these fifty servants of yours!

14. చిత్తగించుము; ఆకాశమునుండి అగ్ని దిగి వెనుకటి పంచ దశాధిపతులను ఇద్దరిని వానివాని యేబది మందితో కూడ దహించెను; అయితే నా ప్రాణము నీ దృష్టికి ప్రియ మైనదిగా ఉండనిమ్మని మనవి చేయగా

14. I know that fire came down from heaven and burned up the two other commanders with their fifty men; but now, have some regard for my life.'

15. యెహోవా దూతవానికి భయపడక వానితోకూడ దిగిపొమ్మని ఏలీ యాకు సెలవిచ్చెను గనుక అతడు లేచి వానితోకూడ రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

15. The angel of ADONAI said to Eliyahu, 'Go down with him; don't be afraid of him.' So he got up and went down with him to the king.

16. అతడు వచ్చి రాజును చూచివిచారణచేయుటకు ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిమధ్య దేవుడన్న వాడు లేడనుకొని నీవు ఎక్రోను దేవతయగు బయల్జెబూబునొద్ద విచారణచేయుటకై దూతలను పంపితివే; నీవెక్కిన మంచముమీదనుండి దిగి రాకుండ నిశ్చయముగా నీవు మరణమవుదువు అని చెప్పెను.

16. Eliyahu said to the king, 'Here is what ADONAI says: 'You sent messengers to consult Ba'al-Z'vuv the god of 'Ekron. Is it because there's no God in Isra'el you can consult? Therefore, you will never leave the bed you are lying on; you will certainly die.''

17. ఏలీయా ద్వారా యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాటప్రకారము అతడు చనిపోయెను. అతనికి కుమారుడు లేనందున యూదా రాజైన యెహోషాపాతు కుమారుడైన యెహోరాము ఏలుబడిలో రెండవ సంవత్సరమందు యెహోరాము అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

17. So he died, in keeping with the word of ADONAI spoken through Eliyahu. Y'horam began to rule in place of him during the second year of Y'horam the son of Y'hoshafat king of Y'hudah, because he had no son.

18. అహజ్యా చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చి ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.
