1. యెహోషాపాతు తన పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రించితన పితరులచెంతను దావీదు పురమందు పాతిపెట్ట బడెను, అతని కుమారుడైన యెహోరాము అతనికి బదులుగా రాజాయెను.

1. Jehosaphat laid him to rest with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David and Jehoram his son reigned in his room:

2. యెహోషాపాతు కుమారులైన అజర్యా యెహీయేలు జెకర్యా అజర్యా మిఖాయేలు షెఫట్య అను వారు ఇతనికి సహోదరులు; వీరందరును ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన యెహోషాపాతు కుమారులు.

2. which Jehoram had other brethren, sons of Jehosaphat, Asariah, Jehiel, Zachariah, Asariah, Michael and Sephatia. All these were the sons of Jehosapaht king of Juda.

3. వారి తండ్రి వెండి బంగారములను బహుమానములుగా ప్రశస్తవస్తువులనేక ములను యూదా దేశములో ప్రాకారముగల పట్టణములను వారికిచ్చెను; అయితే యెహోరాము జ్యేష్ఠుడు గనుక అతనికి రాజ్యమును ఇచ్చెను.

3. And their father gave them many great gifts in silver, gold and other precious things with strong cities in Juda: but the kingdom he gave to Jehoram, because he was the eldest.

4. యెహోరాము తన తండ్రి రాజ్యమును ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు తన్ను స్థిరపరచుకొని, తన సహోదరులనందరిని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల అధిపతులలో కొందరిని హతముచేసెను.

4. And when Jehoram was up upon the kingdom of his father and settled, he slew all his other brethren with the sword, and divers of the lords of Israel thereto.

5. యెహోరాము ఏలనారంభించి నప్పుడు ముప్పది రెండేండ్లవాడు. అతడు యెరూష లేములో ఎనిమిది సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను.

5. Jehoram was thirty two year old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.

6. అతడు అహాబు కుమార్తెను పెండ్లిచేసికొని అహాబు సంతతి వారు నడచిన ప్రకారముగా ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల మార్గమందు నడచెను; అతడు యెహోవా దృష్టికి ప్రతికూలముగా ప్రవర్తించెను.

6. And he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab (for a daughter of Ahab was his wife) and he wrought evil in the eyes of the LORD.

7. అయినను యెహోవా తాను దావీదుతో చేసిన నిబంధన నిమిత్తమును, అతనికిని అతని కుమారులకును నిత్యము దీప మిచ్చెదనని చేసిన వాగ్దానము నిమిత్తమును దావీదు సంతతిని నశింపజేయుటకు మనస్సులేక యుండెను.

7. Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.

8. అతని దినములలో ఎదోమీయులు తిరుగబడి యూదావారి అధి కారము త్రోసివేసి తమకు ఒకరాజును చేసికొనగా

8. In his days the Edomites departed from under the hand of Juda and made them a king.

9. యెహోరాము తన చేతిక్రిందనున్న అధి కారులను వెంట బెట్టుకొని, తన రథములన్నిటితో బయలుదేరి రాత్రివేళ లేచి తన్ను చుట్టుకొనిన ఎదోమీయులను రథాధిపతులను హతముచేసెను.

9. And Jehoram went forth with his lords and all his chariots with him and rose by night and laid on the Edomites. Which compassed him in and the captains of his chariots.

10. కాగా నేటివరకును జరుగుచున్నట్టు ఎదోమీయులు యూదావారి చేతిక్రింద నుండక తిరుగ బడిరి. యెహోరాము తన పితరుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాను విసర్జించినందున ఆ కాలమందు లిబ్నాయును అతని చేతిక్రిందనుండి తిరుగబడెను.

10. And so Edom departed from under the hand of Juda unto this day. That same time also did lobnah depart from under his power, because he left the LORD God of his fathers.

11. మరియు అతడు యూదా పర్వతములయందు బలిపీఠములను కట్టించి యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులు దేవుని విసర్జించునట్లు చేసెను. యూదావారిని విగ్రహపూజకు లోపరచెను.

11. Moreover he made hillaltars in the mountains of Juda, and cause the inhabiters of Jerusalem to commit adultery, and he thrust Juda out of the way.

12. అంతట ప్రవక్తయైన ఏలీయా యొక పత్రిక వ్రాసి అతనియొద్దకు పంపెనునీ పితరుడగు దావీదునకు దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగానీవు నీ తండ్రియైన యెహోషాపాతు మార్గములందైనను యూదారాజైన ఆసా మార్గములందైనను నడువక

12. And there came a writing to him from Eliah the prophet of this tenor. Thus sayeth the LORD God of David thy father: because thou walkedst not in the ways of Jehosaphat thy father and in the ways of Asa king of Juda,

13. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల మార్గమందు నడచి అహాబు సంతతివారు చేసిన వ్యభిచారముల చొప్పున యూదాను యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులను వ్యభిచరింపజేసి, నీకంటె యోగ్యులైన నీ తండ్రి సంతతి వారగు నీ సహోదరులను నీవు చంపియున్నావు.

13. but walkedst in the ways of Asa king of Israel and hast made Juda and the dwellers of Jerusalem go awhoring, like to the whoring of the house of Ahab, and hast thereto slain thy brethren that were thy father's house, which were better than thou:

14. కాబట్టి గొప్ప తెగులుచేత యెహోవా నీ జనులను నీ పిల్లలను నీ భార్యలను నీ వస్తువాహనములన్నిటిని మొత్తును.

14. Therefore behold the LORD will smite thee with a mighty plague in thy folk, in thy children, in thy wives and in thy goods.

15. నీవు ఉదరమున వ్యాధి కలిగి మిక్కిలి రోగివై యుందువు; దిన క్రమేణ ఆ వ్యాధిచేత నీ పేగులు పడిపోవును.

15. And thou shalt have much disease thorow infirmity in thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of thy sickness, day by day.

16. మరియు యెహోవా యెహోరాముమీదికి ఫిలిష్తీయులను కూషీయుల చేరువనున్న అరబీయులను రేపగా

16. And the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and the Arabians that border on the black moors.

17. వారు యూదా దేశముమీదికి వచ్చి దానిలో చొరబడి రాజ నగరునందు దొరకిన సమస్త పదార్థములను అతని కుమారులను భార్యలను పట్టుకొనిపోయిరి; అతని కుమారులలో కనిష్ఠుడైన యెహోయాహాజు తప్ప అతనికి ఒక్క కుమారుడైనను విడువబడలేదు.

17. Which came against Juda and all to tare the land, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and thereto his sons and his wives: so that there was never a son left him save Jehoahaz his youngest son.

18. ఇదియంతయు అయినతరువాత యెహోవా కుదరచాలని వ్యాధిచేత అతనిని ఉదరమున మొత్తినందున

18. And after all that, the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.

19. రెండు సంవత్సరములు వ్యాధి బలమగుచు వచ్చి ఆ వ్యాధిచేత అతని పేగులు పడిపోయి బహు వేదన నొందుచు అతడు మరణమాయెను. అతని జనులు అతని పితరులకు చేసిన ఉత్తరక్రియలు అతనికి చేయలేదు.

19. And in process of time, even about the end of two year, his guts fell out by reason of his sickness: and so he died of evil diseases. But they made him no bonfire, like the bonfires of his fathers.

20. అతడు ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు ముప్పది రెండేండ్లవాడు; యెరూషలేములో ఎనిమిది సంవత్సరములు ఏలి యెవరికిని ఇష్టము లేనివాడై అతడు చనిపోయెను; రాజుల సమాధులలో గాక దావీదు పురమందు వేరుచోట జనులు అతని పాతిపెట్టిరి.

20. When he began to reign, he was twenty seven year old, and reigned in Jerusalem eight years. And he walked not pleasantly and they buried him in the city of David: but not in the sepulchre of the kings.
