1. అప్పుడు నయమాతీయుడైన జోఫరు ఈలాగున ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను

1. Then Zophar the Naamathite answered:

2. ఆలాగున నీవు చెప్పినందుకు నాయందలి ఆతురతతగిన ప్రత్యుత్తరము సిద్ధపరచియున్నది.

2. Pay attention! My thoughts urge me to answer, because of the agitation within me.

3. నాకు అవమానము కలుగజేయు నిందను నేను విన్నందుకు నా మనోవివేకము తగిన ప్రత్యుత్తరము సిద్ధపరచియున్నది.

3. I hear censure that insults me, and a spirit beyond my understanding answers me.

4. దుష్టులకు విజయము కొద్దికాలముండును భక్తిహీనులకు సంతోషము ఒక నిమిష మాత్రముండును.

4. Do you not know this from of old, ever since mortals were placed on earth,

5. ఆది నుండి నరులు భూమిమీద నుంచబడిన కాలము మొదలుకొని ఈలాగు జరుగుచున్నదని నీకు తెలియదా?

5. that the exulting of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless is but for a moment?

6. వారి ఘనత ఆకాశమంత యెత్తుగా పెరిగినను మేఘములంత యెత్తుగా వారు తలలెత్తినను

6. Even though they mount up high as the heavens, and their head reaches to the clouds,

7. తమ మలము నశించురీతిగా వారెన్నటికిని నుండకుండ నశించుదురు. వారిని చూచినవారు వారేమైరని యడుగుదురు.

7. they will perish forever like their own dung; those who have seen them will say, 'Where are they?'

8. కల యెగసిపోవునట్లు వారు గతించి కనబడక పోవుదురు రాత్రి స్వప్నము దాటిపోవునట్లు వారు తరిమి వేయబడుదురు.

8. They will fly away like a dream, and not be found; they will be chased away like a vision of the night.

9. వారిని చూచిన కన్ను ఇకను వారిని చూడదు వారి స్థలమున వారు మరి ఎప్పుడును కనబడరు

9. The eye that saw them will see them no more, nor will their place behold them any longer.

10. వారి సంతతివారు దరిద్రుల దయను వెదకెదరు వారి చేతులు వారి ఆస్తిని తిరిగి అప్పగించును.

10. Their children will seek the favor of the poor, and their hands will give back their wealth.

11. వారి యెముకలలో ¸యౌవనబలము నిండియుండును గాని అదియు వారితో కూడ మంటిలో పండుకొనును.

11. Their bodies, once full of youth, will lie down in the dust with them.

12. చెడుతనము వారి నోటికి తియ్యగా నుండెనువారు నాలుకక్రింద దాని దాచిపెట్టిరి.

12. Though wickedness is sweet in their mouth, though they hide it under their tongues,

13. దాని పోనియ్యక భద్రము చేసికొనిరి, నోట దానినుంచుకొనిరి.

13. though they are loath to let it go, and hold it in their mouths,

14. అయినను వారి కడుపులో వారి ఆహారము పులిసిపోవును అది వారిలోపట నాగుపాముల విషమగును.

14. yet their food is turned in their stomachs; it is the venom of asps within them.

15. వారు ధనమును మింగివేసిరి గాని యిప్పుడు దానిని మరల కక్కివేయుదురు.

15. They swallow down riches and vomit them up again; God casts them out of their bellies.

16. వారి కడుపులోనుండి దేవుడు దాని కక్కించును. వారు కట్లపాముల విషమును పీల్చుదురు నాగుపాము నాలుక వారిని చంపును.

16. They will suck the poison of asps; the tongue of a viper will kill them.

17. ఏరులై పారుచున్న తేనెను వెన్నపూసను చూచివారు సంతోషింపరు.

17. They will not look on the rivers, the streams flowing with honey and curds.

18. దేని కొరకు వారు ప్రయాసపడి సంపాదించియుండిరో దానిని వారు అనుభవింపక మరల అప్పగించెదరు వారు సంపాదించిన ఆస్తికొలది వారికి సంతోషముండదు

18. They will give back the fruit of their toil, and will not swallow it down; from the profit of their trading they will get no enjoyment.

19. వారు బీదలను ముంచి విడిచిపెట్టినవారు వారు బలాత్కారముచేత ఒక యింటిని ఆక్రమించుకొనినను దానిని కట్టి పూర్తిచేయరు.

19. For they have crushed and abandoned the poor, they have seized a house that they did not build.

20. వారు ఎడతెగక ఆశించిన వారు తమ యిష్టవస్తువులలో ఒకదాని చేతనైనను తమ్మును తాము రక్షించుకొనజాలరు.

20. They knew no quiet in their bellies; in their greed they let nothing escape.

21. వారు మింగివేయనిది ఒకటియు లేదు గనుక వారిక్షేమస్థితి నిలువదు.

21. There was nothing left after they had eaten; therefore their prosperity will not endure.

22. వారికి సంపాద్యము పూర్ణముగా కలిగిన సమయమున వారు ఇబ్బందిపడుదురు దురవస్థలోనుండు వారందరి చెయ్యి వారిమీదికివచ్చును.

22. In full sufficiency they will be in distress; all the force of misery will come upon them.

23. వారు కడుపు నింపుకొననైయుండగా దేవుడు వారిమీద తన కోపాగ్ని కురిపించును వారు తినుచుండగా దాని కురిపించును.

23. To fill their belly to the full God will send his fierce anger into them, and rain it upon them as their food.

24. ఇనుప ఆయుధము తప్పించుకొనుటకై వారు పారిపోగా ఇత్తడివిల్లు వారి దేహములగుండ బాణములను పోవిడు చును.

24. They will flee from an iron weapon; a bronze arrow will strike them through.

25. అది దేహమును చీల్చి వారి శరీరములోనుండి వచ్చును అది బయట తీయగా వారి శరీరములోనుండి పైత్యపు తిత్తి వచ్చును, మరణభయము వారి మీదికి వచ్చును.

25. It is drawn forth and comes out of their body, and the glittering point comes out of their gall; terrors come upon them.

26. వారి ధననిధులు అంధకారపూర్ణములగును ఊదనక్కరలేని అగ్ని వారిని మింగివేయును వారి గుడారములో మిగిలిన దానిని అది కాల్చివేయును.

26. Utter darkness is laid up for their treasures; a fire fanned by no one will devour them; what is left in their tent will be consumed.

27. ఆకాశము వారి దోషమును బయలుపరచును భూమి వారిమీదికి లేచును.

27. The heavens will reveal their iniquity, and the earth will rise up against them.

28. వారి యింటికి వచ్చిన ఆర్జన కనబడకపోవును దేవుని కోపదినమున వారి ఆస్తి నాశనమగును.

28. The possessions of their house will be carried away, dragged off in the day of God's wrath.

29. ఇది దేవుని వలన దుష్టులైన నరులకు ప్రాప్తించుభాగము దేవునివలన వారికి నియమింపబడిన స్వాస్థ్యము ఇదే.

29. This is the portion of the wicked from God, the heritage decreed for them by God.
