1. రాహేలు తాను యాకోబునకు పిల్లలు కనక పోవుట చూచి తన అక్కయందు అసూయపడి యాకోబుతో - నాకు గర్భఫలమునిమ్ము; లేనియెడల నేను చచ్చెదననెను.

1. And Rachel seeth that she hath not borne to Jacob, and Rachel is envious of her sister, and saith unto Jacob, 'Give me sons, and if there is none -- I die.'

2. యాకోబు కోపము రాహేలుమీద రగులుకొనగా అతడు - నేను నీకు గర్భఫలమును ఇయ్యక పోయిన దేవునికి ప్రతిగా నున్నానా అనెను.

2. And Jacob's anger burneth against Rachel, and he saith, 'Am I in stead of God who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?'

3. అందుకామె - నా దాసియైన బిల్హా ఉన్నది గదా; ఆమెతో పొమ్ము; ఆమె నా కొరకు పిల్లలను కనును; ఆలాగున ఆమె వలన నాకును పిల్లలు కలుగుదురని చెప్పి

3. And she saith, 'Lo, my handmaid Bilhah, go in unto her, and she doth bear on my knees, and I am built up, even I, from her;'

4. తన దాసియైన బిల్హాను అతనికి భార్యగా ఇచ్చెను. యాకోబు ఆమెతో పోగా

4. and she giveth to him Bilhah her maid-servant for a wife, and Jacob goeth in unto her;

5. బిల్హా గర్భవతియై యాకోబునకు కుమారుని కనెను.

5. and Bilhah conceiveth, and beareth to Jacob a son,

6. అప్పుడు రాహేలు దేవుడు నాకు తీర్పుతీర్చెను; ఆయన నా మొరను విని నాకు కుమారుని దయ చేసెననుకొని అతనికి దాను అని పేరు పెట్టెను.

6. and Rachel saith, 'God hath decided for me, and also hath hearkened to my voice, and giveth to me a son;' therefore hath she called his name Dan.

7. రాహేలు దాసియైన బిల్హా తిరిగి గర్భవతియై యాకోబుకు రెండవ కుమారుని కనెను.

7. And Bilhah, Rachel's maid-servant, conceiveth again, and beareth a second son to Jacob,

8. అప్పుడు రాహేలు దేవుని కృప విషయమై నా అక్కతో పోరాడి గెలిచితిననుకొని అతనికి నఫ్తాలి అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

8. and Rachel saith, 'With wrestlings of God I have wrestled with my sister, yea, I have prevailed;' and she calleth his name Napthali.

9. లేయా తనకు కానుపు ఉడుగుట చూచి తన దాసియైన జిల్పాను తీసికొని యాకోబునకు ఆమెను భార్యగా ఇచ్చెను.

9. And Leah seeth that she hath ceased from bearing, and she taketh Zilpah her maid-servant, and giveth her to Jacob for a wife;

10. లేయా దాసియైన జిల్పా యాకోబునకు కుమారుని కనగా

10. and Zilpah, Leah's maid-servant, beareth to Jacob a son,

11. లేయా - ఇది అదృష్టమే గదా అనుకొని అతనికి గాదు అను పేరుపెట్టెను.

11. and Leah saith, 'A troop is coming;' and she calleth his name Gad.

12. లేయా దాసియైన జిల్పా యాకోబునకు రెండవ కుమారుని కనగా

12. And Zilpah, Leah's maid-servant, beareth a second son to Jacob,

13. లేయా నేను భాగ్యవంతురాలను - స్త్రీలు నన్ను భాగ్యవతి అందురు గదా అని అతనికి ఆషేరు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

13. and Leah saith, 'Because of my happiness, for daughters have pronounced me happy;' and she calleth his name Asher.

14. గోధుమల కోతకాలములో రూబేను వెళ్లి పొలములో పుత్రదాత వృక్షపు పండ్లు చూచి తన తల్లియైన లేయాకు తెచ్చి యిచ్చెను. అప్పుడు రాహేలు - నీ కుమారుని పుత్ర దాతవృక్షపు పండ్లలో కొన్ని నాకు దయచేయుమని లేయాతో అనగా

14. And Reuben goeth in the days of wheat-harvest, and findeth love-apples in the field, and bringeth them in unto Leah, his mother, and Rachel saith unto Leah, 'Give to me, I pray thee, of the love-apples of thy son.'

15. ఆమె - నా భర్తను తీసికొంటివే అది చాలదా? ఇప్పుడు నా కుమారుని పుత్రదాత వృక్షపు పండ్లను తీసికొందువా అని చెప్పెను. అందుకు రాహేలు - కాబట్టి నీ కుమారుని పుత్రదాత వృక్షపు పండ్ల నిమిత్తము అతడు ఈ రాత్రి నీతో శయనించునని చెప్పెను.

15. And she saith to her, 'Is thy taking my husband a little thing, that thou hast taken also the love-apples of my son?' and Rachel saith, 'Therefore doth he lie with thee to-night, for thy son's love-apples.'

16. సాయంకాలమందు యాకోబు పొలము నుండి వచ్చునప్పుడు లేయా అతనిని ఎదుర్కొన బోయి - నీవు నా యొద్దకు రావలెను, నా కుమారుని పుత్రదాతవృక్షపు పండ్లతో నిన్ను కొంటినని చెప్పెను. కాబట్టి అతడు ఆ రాత్రి ఆమెతో శయనించెను.

16. And Jacob cometh in from the field at evening; and Leah goeth to meet him, and saith, 'Unto me dost thou come in, for hiring I have hired thee with my son's love-apples;' and he lieth with her during that night.

17. దేవుడు లేయా మనవి వినెను గనుక ఆమె గర్భవతియై యాకోబునకు అయిదవ కుమారుని కనెను.

17. And God hearkeneth unto Leah, and she conceiveth, and beareth to Jacob a son, a fifth,

18. లేయా నేను నా పెనిమిటికి నా దాసి నిచ్చినందున దేవుడు నాకు ప్రతిఫలము దయచేసెననుకొని అతనికి ఇశ్శాఖారు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

18. and Leah saith, 'God hath given my hire, because I have given my maid-servant to my husband;' and she calleth his name Issachar.

19. లేయా మరల గర్భవతియై యాకోబునకు ఆరవ కుమారుని కనెను.

19. And conceive again doth Leah, and she beareth a sixth son to Jacob,

20. అప్పుడు లేయా దేవుడు మంచి బహుమతి నాకు దయచేసెను; నా పెనిమిటికి ఆరుగురు కుమారులను కనియున్నాను గనుక అతడికను నాతో కాపురము చేయుననుకొని అతనికి జెబూలూను అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

20. and Leah saith, 'God hath endowed me -- a good dowry; this time doth my husband dwell with me, for I have borne to him six sons;' and she calleth his name Zebulun;

21. ఆ తరువాత ఆమె కొమార్తెను కని ఆమెకు దీనా అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

21. and afterwards hath she born a daughter, and calleth her name Dinah.

22. దేవుడు రాహేలును జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొని ఆమె మనవి విని ఆమె గర్భము తెరిచెను.

22. And God remembereth Rachel, and God hearkeneth unto her, and openeth her womb,

23. అప్పుడామె గర్భవతియై కుమారుని కని - దేవుడు నా నింద తొలగించెననుకొనెను.

23. and she conceiveth and beareth a son, and saith, 'God hath gathered up my reproach;'

24. మరియు ఆమె - యెహోవా మరియొక కుమారుని నాకు దయచేయునుగాక అనుకొని అతనికి యోసేపు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

24. and she calleth his name Joseph, saying, 'Jehovah is adding to me another son.'

25. రాహేలు యోసేపును కనిన తరువాత యాకోబు లాబానుతో - నన్ను పంపివేయుము; నా చోటికిని నా దేశమునకును వెళ్లెదను.

25. And it cometh to pass, when Rachel hath borne Joseph, that Jacob saith unto Laban, 'Send me away, and I go unto my place, and to my land;

26. నా భార్యలను నా పిల్లలను నాకప్పగించుము; అప్పుడు నేను వెళ్లెదను; వారి కోసము నీకు కొలువుచేసితిని; నేను నీకు కొలువు చేసిన విధమును నీ వెరుగుదువుగదా అని చెప్పెను.

26. give up my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and I go; for thou -- thou hast known my service which I have served thee.'

27. అందుకు లాబాను అతనితో నీ కటాక్షము నా మీదనున్న యెడల నా మాట వినుము; నిన్ను బట్టి యెహోవా నన్ను ఆశీర్వదించెనని శకునము చూచి తెలిసికొంటినని చెప్పెను.

27. And Laban saith unto him, 'If, I pray thee, I have found grace in thine eyes -- I have observed diligently that Jehovah doth bless me for thy sake.'

28. మరియు అతడు నీ జీతమింతయని నాతో స్పష్టముగా చెప్పుము అది యిచ్చెదననెను.

28. He saith also, 'Define thy hire to me, and I give.'

29. అందుకు యాకోబు అతని చూచి నేను నీకెట్లు కొలువు చేసితినో నీ మందలు నాయొద్ద ఎట్లుండెనో అది నీకు తెలియును;

29. And he saith unto him, 'Thou -- thou hast known that which I have served thee [in], and that which thy substance was with me;

30. నేను రాకమునుపు నీకుండినది కొంచెమే; అయితే అది బహుగా అభివృద్ధి పొందెను; నేను పాదముపెట్టిన చోటెల్ల యెహోవా నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించెను; నేను నా యింటి వారికొరకు ఎప్పుడు సంపాద్యము చేసికొందుననెను.

30. for [it is] little which thou hast had at my appearance, and it breaketh forth into a multitude, and Jehovah blesseth thee at my coming; and now, when do I make, I also, for mine own house?'

31. అప్పుడతడు నేను నీకేమి ఇయ్యవలెనని యడిగినందుకు యాకోబు నీవు నాకేమియు ఇయ్యవద్దు; నీవు నాకొరకు ఈ విధముగా చేసినయెడల నేను తిరిగి నీ మందను మేపి కాచెదను.

31. And he saith, 'What do I give to thee?' And Jacob saith, 'Thou dost not give me anything; if thou do for me this thing, I turn back; I have delight; thy flock I watch;

32. నేడు నేను నీ మంద అంతటిలో నడచి చూచి పొడలైనను మచ్చలైనను గల ప్రతి గొఱ్ఱెను, గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలలో నల్లని ప్రతిదానిని, మేకలలో మచ్చలైనను పొడలైనను గలవాటిని వేరుపరచెదను; అట్టివి నాకు జీతమగును.

32. I pass through all thy flock to-day to turn aside from thence every sheep speckled and spotted, and every brown sheep among the lambs, and speckled and spotted among the goats -- and it hath been my hire;

33. ఇకమీదట నాకు రావలసిన జీతమును గూర్చి నీవు చూడవచ్చినప్పుడు నా న్యాయ ప్రవర్తనయే నాకు సాక్ష్యమగును; మేకలలో పొడలైనను మచ్చలైనను లేనివన్నియు, గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలలో నలుపు లేనివన్నియు నా యొద్దనున్న యెడల నేను దొంగిలితినని చెప్పవచ్చుననెను.

33. and my righteousness hath answered for me in the day to come, when it cometh in for my hire before thy face; -- every one which is not speckled and spotted among [my] goats, and brown among [my] lambs -- it is stolen with me.'

34. అందుకు లాబాను మంచిది, నీ మాటచొప్పుననే కానిమ్మనెను.

34. And Laban saith, 'Lo, O that it were according to thy word;'

35. ఆ దినమున లాబాను చారయైనను మచ్చయైనను గల మేకపోతులను, పొడలైనను మచ్చలైనను గల పెంటిమేకలన్నిటిని కొంచెము తెలుపుగల ప్రతిదానిని గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలలో నల్లవాటి నన్నిటిని వేరుచేసి తన కుమారుల చేతి కప్పగించి

35. and he turneth aside during that day the ring-streaked and the spotted he-goats, and all the speckled and the spotted she-goats, every one that [hath] white in it, and every brown one among the lambs, and he giveth into the hand of his sons,

36. తనకును యాకోబునకును మధ్య మూడు దినముల ప్రయాణమంత దూరము పెట్టెను; లాబానుయొక్క మిగిలిన మందను యాకోబు మేపుచుండెను.

36. and setteth a journey of three days between himself and Jacob; and Jacob is feeding the rest of the flock of Laban.

37. యాకోబు చినారు జంగి సాలు అను చెట్ల చువ్వలను తీసికొని ఆ చువ్వలలో తెల్లచారలు కనబడునట్లు అక్కడక్కడ వాటి తొక్కలు ఒలిచి

37. And Jacob taketh to himself a rod of fresh poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut, and doth peel in them white peelings, making bare the white that [is] on the rods,

38. మందలు నీళ్లు త్రాగ వచ్చినప్పుడు అవి చూలు కట్టుటకు అతడు తాను ఒలిచిన చువ్వలను మందలు త్రాగుటకు వచ్చు కాలువలలోను నీళ్లగాళ్లలోను వాటియెదుట పెట్టగా

38. and setteth up the rods which he hath peeled in the gutters in the watering troughs (when the flock cometh in to drink), over-against the flock, that they may conceive in their coming in to drink;

39. మందలు ఆ చువ్వల యెదుట చూలు కట్టి చారలైనను పొడలైనను మచ్చలైనను గల పిల్లలను ఈనెను.

39. and the flocks conceive at the rods, and the flock beareth ring-streaked, speckled, and spotted ones.

40. యాకోబు ఆ గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలను వేరుచేసి, చారలుగల వాటి తట్టును లాబాను మందలలో నల్లని వాటి తట్టును మందల ముఖములు త్రిప్పి తన మందలను లాబాను మందలతో నుంచక వాటిని వేరుగా ఉంచెను.

40. And the lambs hath Jacob parted, and he putteth the face of the flock towards the ring-streaked, also all the brown in the flock of Laban, and he setteth his own droves by themselves, and hath not set them near Laban's flock.

41. మందలో బలమైనవి చూలు కట్టినప్పుడెల్లను అవి ఆ చువ్వల యెదుట చూలు కట్టునట్లు యాకోబు మంద కన్నుల యెదుట కాలువలలో ఆ చువ్వలు పెట్టెను.

41. And it hath come to pass whenever the strong ones of the flock conceive, that Jacob set the rods before the eyes of the flock in the gutters, to cause them to conceive by the rods,

42. మంద బలహీనమైనప్పుడు పెట్టలేదు. అట్లు బలహీనమైనవి లాబానుకును బలమైనవి యాకోబు నకును వచ్చెను.

42. and when the flock is feeble, he doth not set [them]; and the feeble ones have been Laban's, and the strong ones Jacob's.

43. ఆ ప్రకారము ఆ మనుష్యుడు అత్యధికముగా అభివృద్ధిపొంది విస్తారమైన మందలు దాసీలు దాసులు ఒంటెలు గాడిదలు గలవాడాయెను.

43. And the man increaseth very exceedingly, and hath many flocks, and maid-servants, and men-servants, and camels, and asses.
