1. అంతట జీఫీయులు గిబియాలో సౌలునొద్దకు వచ్చిదావీదు యెషీమోను ఎదుట హకీలామన్య ములో దాగి యున్నాడని తెలియజేయగా

1. The Ziphites came againe vnto Saul to Gibea, saying: Doth not Dauid hide him selfe in the hill of Hachilia, which is before Iesimon?

2. సౌలు లేచి ఇశ్రాయేలీ యులలో ఏర్పరచబడిన మూడువేల మందిని తీసికొని జీఫు అరణ్యములో దావీదును వెదకుటకు జీఫు అరణ్య మునకు పోయెను.

2. Saul arose, & went downe to the wildernes of Ziph, hauing three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, for to seke Dauid in the wildernesse of Ziph.

3. సౌలు యెషీమోను ఎదుటనున్న హకీలామన్యమందు త్రోవ ప్రక్కను దిగగా, దావీదు అరణ్యములో నివసించుచుండి తన్ను పట్టుకొనవలెనని సౌలు అరణ్యమునకు వచ్చెనని విని

3. And Saul pitched in the hil of Hachilia, which is before Iesimon by the way side: But Dauid dwelt in the wildernesse, and he sawe that Saul came after him into the wildernesse:

4. వేగులవారిని పంపి నిశ్చయముగా సౌలు వచ్చెనని తెలిసికొనెను.

4. Dauid therefore sent out spies, & vnderstoode that Saul was come in very deede.

5. తరువాత దావీదు లేచి సౌలు దండు దిగిన స్థలము దగ్గరకు వచ్చి, సౌలును సౌలునకు సైన్యాధిపతియగు నేరు కుమారు డైన అబ్నేరును పరుండియుండగా వారున్నస్థలము కను గొనెను. సౌలు దండుక్రొత్తళములో పండుకొనగా దండువారు అతనిచుట్టు నుండిరి.

5. And Dauid arose, & came to the place where Saul had pitched: & Dauid beheld the place where Saul lay, & Abner the sonne of Ner which was his chiefe captayne: for Saul lay in the fort, & the people pytched rounde about him.

6. అప్పుడు దావీదుపాళెములోనికి సౌలు దగ్గరకు నాతోకూడ ఎవరు వత్తురని హిత్తీయుడైన అహీమెలెకును సెరూయా కుమారుడును యోవాబునకు సహోదరుడునగు అబీషైని నడుగగానీతోకూడ నేనే వత్తునని అబీషై యనెను.

6. Then aunswered Dauid, and spake to Ahimelech the Hethite, and to Abisai the sonne of Zaruia, & brother to Ioab, saying: Who wyll go downe with me to Saul to the hoast? And Abisai saide: I wyll go downe with thee.

7. దావీదును అబీషైయును రాత్రివేళ ఆ జనుల దగ్గరకు పోగా సౌలు దండు క్రొత్తళములో పండుకొని నిద్ర బోవుచుండెను, అతని యీటె అతని తలగడ దగ్గర నేలను నాటియుండెను, అబ్నేరును జనులును అతని చుట్టు పండుకొనియుండిరి.

7. And so Dauid and Abisai came downe to the people by night, and behold Saul lay sleepyng within the fort, and his speare stacke in ye grounde at his head: but Abner and the people lay rounde about hym.

8. అప్పుడు అబీషై దావీదుతోదేవుడు ఈ దినమున నీ శత్రువుని నీకప్పగించెను; కాబట్టి నీ చిత్తమైతే ఆ యీటెతో ఒక్కపోటు పొడిచి, నేనతనిని భూమికి నాటివేతును, ఒక దెబ్బతోనే పరిష్కారము చేతుననగా

8. Then saide Abisai to Dauid, God hath closed thyne enemie into thyne hand thys day: Nowe I pray thee let me smite him once with my speare to the earth, & I will not smite him the second tyme.

9. దావీదునీవతని చంపకూడదు, యెహోవాచేత అభిషేకము నొందినవానిని చంపి నిర్దోషియగుట యెవనికి సాధ్యము?

9. And Dauid saide to Abisai, Destroye him not: For who can laye his hand on the Lordes annoynted, and be giltlesse?

10. యహోవా జీవముతోడు యెహోవాయే అతని మొత్తును, అతడు అపాయమువలన చచ్చును, లేదా యుద్ధమునకు పోయి నశించును;

10. And Dauid sayd furthermore: As the Lorde lyueth, the Lorde shall smyte him or his day shall come to dye, or he shall descend into battaile, and perishe.

11. యెహోవాచేత అభిషేకము నొందిన వానిని నేను చంపను; ఆలాగున నేను చేయకుండ యెహోవా నన్ను ఆపునుగాక. అయితే అతని తలగడ దగ్గరనున్న యీటెను నీళ్ల బుడ్డిని తీసికొని మనము వెళ్లిపోదము రమ్మని అబీషైతో చెప్పి

11. The Lorde kepe me from laying myne hand vpon the Lordes annoynted: But I praye thee take thou nowe the speare that is at his head, and the cruse of water, and let vs go.

12. సౌలు తలగడదగ్గర నున్న యీటెను నీళ్లబుడ్డిని తీసికొని వారిద్దరు వెళ్లిపోయిరి. యెహోవాచేత వారి కందరికి గాఢనిద్ర కలుగగా వారిలో ఎవడును నిద్ర మేలుకొనలేదు, ఎవడును వచ్చిన వారిని చూడలేదు, జరిగినదాని గుర్తు పట్టినవాడొకడును లేడు.

12. And so Dauid toke the speare and the cruse of water from Sauls head, and they gat them away, and no man sawe it, nor marked it, neither awaked: For they were all asleepe, because the Lorde had sent a dead sleepe vpon the.

13. తరువాత దావీదు అవతలకుపోయి దూరముగా నున్న కొండమీద నిలిచి, ఉభయుల మధ్యను చాలా యెడముండగా

13. Then Dauid went ouer to the other syde, and stoode on the toppe of an hill a farre of (a great space being betweene them:)

14. జనులును నేరు కుమారుడైన అబ్నేరును వినునట్లు అబ్నేరూ, నీవు మాటలాడవా? అని కేక వేయగా అబ్నేరు కేకలువేసిరాజును నిద్రలేపు నీవెవడవని అడిగెను.

14. And Dauid cryed to the people, and to Abner the sonne of Ner, saying: Hearest thou not Abner? Abner aunswered and sayd: Who art thou that cryest to the king?

15. అందుకు దావీదునీవు మగవాడవు కావా? ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో నీ వంటివాడెవడు? నీకు యజమానుడగు రాజునకు నీ వెందుకు కాపు కాయక పోతివి? నీకు యజమానుడగు రాజును సంహరించుటకు జనులలో ఒకడు చేరువకు వచ్చెనే;

15. And Dauid sayde to Abner: Art not thou a man? and who is lyke to thee in Israel? Wherefore then hast thou not kept thy lorde the king? For there came one of the folke in to destroye the king thy lorde.

16. నీ ప్రవర్తన అను కూలము కాదు, నీవు శిక్షకు పాత్రుడవే; యెహోవా చేత అభిషేకము నొందిన నీ యేలినవానికి నీవు రక్షకముగా నుండలేదు; యెహోవా జీవముతోడు నీవు మరణశిక్షకు పాత్రుడవు. రాజుయొక్క యీటె యెక్కడ నున్నదో చూడుము, అతని తలగడయొద్దనున్న నీళ్లబుడ్డి యెక్కడ నున్నదో చూడుము అని పలికెను.

16. It is not well done of thee: As the Lorde lyueth, ye are worthy to dye, because ye haue not kept the Lordes annoynted: And nowe see where the kinges speare is, and the cruse of water that was at his head.

17. సౌలు దావీదు స్వరము ఎరిగిదావీదా నాయనా, యిది నీ స్వరమేగదా అని అనగా దావీదు ఇట్లనెనునా యేలినవాడా నా రాజా, నా స్వరమే.

17. And Saul knew Dauids voyce, and sayd: Is this thy voyce my sonne Dauid? And Dauid sayde: It is my voyce my lorde, O king.

18. నా యేలిన వాడు తన దాసుని ఈలాగు ఎందుకు తరుముచున్నాడు? నేనేమి చేసితిని? నావలన ఏ కీడు నీకు సంభవించును?

18. And he sayde: Wherefore doth my lorde thus persecute his seruaunt? for what haue I done? or what euyll is in myne hand?

19. రాజా నా యేలిన వాడా, నీ దాసుని మాటలు వినుము. నామీద పడవలెనని యెహోవా నిన్ను ప్రేరేపించినయెడల నైవేద్యము చేసి ఆయనను శాంతిపరచవచ్చును. అయితే నరులెవరైనను నిన్ను ప్రేరేపించిన యెడల వారు యెహోవా దృష్టికి శాపగ్రస్తులగుదురు. వారునీవు దేశమును విడిచి అన్య దేవతలను పూజించుమని నాతో చెప్పి, యెహోవా స్వాస్థ్యమునకు హత్తుకొనకుండ నన్ను వెలివేయు చున్నారు.

19. Nowe therefore I praye thee, let my lorde the king heare the wordes of his seruaunt: If the Lorde haue stirred thee vp against me, let him smell the sauour of a sacrifice: But and if they be the children of men, cursed are they before the Lorde, for they haue cast me out this day from abidyng in the inheritaunce of the Lorde, saying: Go, serue other goddes.

20. నా దేశమునకు దూరముగాను, యెహోవా సన్నిధికి ఎడమగాను నేను మరణము నొందకపోవుదును గాక. ఒకడు పర్వతములమీద కౌజుపిట్టను తరిమినట్టు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజవైన నీవు మిన్నల్లిని వెదకుటకై బయలుదేరి వచ్చితివి.

20. Now therefore let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the Lorde: For the king of Israel is come out to seeke a flea, as when one doth hunt a partridge in the mountaynes.

21. అందుకు సౌలునేను పాపము చేసితిని, ఈ దినమున నాప్రాణము నీ దృష్టికి ప్రియముగా నుండినదానిబట్టి నేను నీకిక కీడుచేయను. దావీదా నాయనా, నాయొద్దకు తిరిగిరమ్ము; వెఱ్ఱి వాడనై నేను బహు తప్పు చేసితిననగా

21. Then saide Saul, I haue sinned: Come agayne my sonne Dauid, for I will do thee no more harme, because my soule was precious in thyne eyes this day: Beholde, I haue played the foole, and haue erred exceedinly.

22. దావీదురాజా, యిదిగో నీ యీటె నాయొద్దనున్నది, పనివారిలో నొకడు వచ్చి దాని తీసికొనవచ్చును.

22. And Dauid aunswered and said: Beholde the kinges speare, let one of the young men come ouer and fet it.

23. యెహోవా ఈ దినము నిన్ను నాకు అప్పగించినను నేను యెహోవా చేత అభిషేకము నొందినవానిని చంపనొల్లక పోయినందున ఆయన నా నీతిని నా విశ్వాస్యతను చూచి నాకు ప్రతిఫలము దయ చేయును.

23. The Lorde rewarde euery man according to his righteousnes, and faythfulnesse: For the Lorde deliuered thee into my hand this day, but I would not lay mine hand vpon the Lordes annoynted.

24. చిత్తగించుము, ఈ దినమున నీ ప్రాణము నా దృష్టికి ఘనమైనందున యెహోవా నా ప్రాణమును తన దృష్టికి ఘనముగా ఎంచి బాధలన్నిటిలోనుండి నన్ను రక్షించునుగాక అని చెప్పెను.

24. And behold, like as thy life was much set by this day in myne eyes: so be my lyfe set by in the eyes of the Lorde, that he deliuer me out of all tribulation.

25. అందుకు సౌలుదావీదా నాయనా, నీవు ఆశీర్వాదము పొందుదువు గాక; నీవు ఘనకార్యములను పూనుకొని విజయము నొందుదువుగాక అని దావీదుతో అనెను. అప్పుడు దావీదు తన మార్గమున వెళ్లిపోయెను, సౌలును తన స్థలమునకు తిరిగి వచ్చెను.

25. Then Saul saide to Dauid: Blessed art thou my sonne Dauid, for thou shalt do great thinges and preuaile. And so Dauid went his way, and Saul turned to his place agayne.
