1. అంతట దైవజనుడైన యొకడు యెహోవాచేత సెలవు నొంది యూదాదేశమునుండి బేతేలునకు వచ్చెను. ధూపము వేయుటకై యరొబాము ఆ బలిపీఠమునొద్ద నిలిచి యుండగా

1. And behold, ther came a man of God out of Iuda by the worde of the lord, vnto Bethel: and Ieroboam stoode by the aulter to put incense.

2. ఆ దైవజనుడు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞచేత బలిపీఠమునకు ఈ మాట ప్రక టనచేసెనుబలిపీఠమా బలి పీఠమా, యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగాదావీదు సంత తిలో యోషీయా అను నొక శిశువు పుట్టును; నీమీద ధూపము వేసిన ఉన్నత స్థలముయొక్క యాజకులను అతడు నీమీద అర్పించును; అతడు మనుష్య శల్యములను నీమీద దహనము చేయును.

2. And he cried against the aulter in the worde of the Lorde, and sayd: O aulter aulter, thus sayeth the Lorde: Behold, a childe shall be borne vnto the house of Dauid, Iosia by name, and vpon thee shall he offer the priestes of the hill aulters that burnt incense vpon thee, and mens bones shalbe burnt vpon thee.

3. ఈ బలిపీఠము బద్దలై పోయి దానిమీదనున్న బుగ్గి ఒలికి పోవుటయే యెహోవా ఇచ్చు సూచన అని చెప్పి ఆ దినమున ఆ ప్రవక్త సూచన యొకటి యిచ్చెను.

3. And he gaue a token the same time, saying: This is the token that the Lorde hath spoken it: Beholde, the aulter shall rent, and the ashes that are vpon it shall fall out.

4. బేతేలునందున్న బలి పీఠమునుగూర్చి ఆ దైవజనుడు ప్రకటించిన మాట రాజైన యరొబాము విని, బలిపీఠముమీదనుండి తన చెయ్యి చాపి, వానిని పట్టు కొనుమని చెప్పగా అతడు చాపిన చెయ్యి యెండి పోయెను; దానిని వెనుకకు తీసికొనుటకు అతనికి శక్తిలేక పోయెను.

4. And when the king hearde the saying of the man of God whiche had cryed against the aulter in Bethel, he stretched out his hande from the aulter, saying, Holde him: And his hand which he put foorth against him dried vp, & he coulde not pull it in againe to him.

5. మరియు యెహోవా సెలవు ప్రకారము దైవజనుడిచ్చిన సూచనచొప్పున బలిపీఠము బద్దలుకాగా బుగ్గి దానిమీదనుండి ఒలికిపోయెను.

5. The aulter also claue asunder, and the ashes fell out from the aulter, according to the token which the man of God had geuen by the worde of the Lorde.

6. అప్పుడు రాజునా చెయ్యి మునుపటివలె బాగగునట్లు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా సముఖమందు నాకొరకు వేడుకొనుమని ఆ దైవజనుని బతిమాలుకొనగా, దైవజనుడు యెహోవాను బతిమాలుకొనెను గనుక రాజు చెయ్యి మరల బాగై మునుపటివలె ఆయెను.

6. And the king aunswered, and sayd vnto the man of God: Oh pray vnto the Lorde thy God, and make intercession for me, that my hande may be restored me againe. And the ma of God besought the Lord, and the kinges hand was restored againe, and became as it was afore.

7. అప్పుడు రాజునీవు నా యింటికి వచ్చి అలసట తీర్చుకొనుము, నీకు బహుమతి ఇచ్చెదనని ఆ దైవజనునితో చెప్పగా

7. And the king sayde vnto the man of God: Come home with me, that thou mayest dine, and I will geue thee a reward.

8. దైవజనుడు రాజుతో ఇట్లనెనునీ యింటిలో సగము నీవు నాకిచ్చినను నీతోకూడ నేను లోపలికి రాను; ఈ స్థలమందు నేను అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొనను;

8. And the man of God sayde vnto the king: If thou wouldest geue me halfe thyne house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eate bread, nor drinke water in this place:

9. అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొన వద్దనియు, నీవు వచ్చిన మార్గమున తిరిగి పోవద్దనియు యెహోవా వాక్కుచేత నాకు సెలవాయెనని రాజుతో అనెను.

9. For so was it charged me through the word of the Lord, saying: Eate no bread nor drinke water, nor turne agayne by the same way that thou camest.

10. అంతట అతడు తాను బేతేలునకు వచ్చిన మార్గమున వెళ్లక మరియొక మార్గమున తిరిగిపోయెను.

10. And so he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel.

11. బేతేలులో ప్రవక్తయగు ఒక ముసలివాడు కాపుర ముండెను. ఇతని కుమారులలో ఒకడు వచ్చి బేతేలులో దైవజనుడు ఆ దినమున చేసిన క్రియలన్నిటిని, అతడు రాజుతో పలికిన మాటలన్నిటిని తమ తండ్రితో తెలియ జెప్పగా

11. And there dwelt an olde prophet in Bethel, and his sonnes came and tolde him al the workes that the man of God had done that day in Bethel, and the wordes which he had spoken vnto the king tolde they their father also.

12. వారి తండ్రి అతడు ఏ మార్గమున వెళ్లిపోయె నని వారినడిగెను; అంతట అతని కుమారులు యూదాదేశ ములోనుండి వచ్చిన దైవజనుడు ఏ మార్గమున వెళ్లిపోయినది తెలిపిరి.

12. And their father sayde vnto them: What way went he? And his sonnes shewed him what way the man of God went which came from Iuda.

13. పిమ్మట అతడు తన కుమారులను పిలిచినాకొరకు గాడిదకు గంతకట్టుడని చెప్పగా వారు అతని కొరకు గాడిదకు గంతకట్టిరి. అతడు దానిమీద ఎక్కి దైవజనుని కనుగొనవలెనని పోయి

13. And he saide vnto his sonnes: Saddle me the asse. Which when they had saddled, he gat him vp thereon,

14. మస్తకివృక్షము క్రింద అతడు కూర్చుండగా చూచియూదాదేశములోనుండి వచ్చిన దైవజనుడవు నీవేనా? అని అడుగగా అతడునేనే అనెను.

14. And went after the man of God, and founde him sytting vnder a tree, and he said vnto him: Art thou the man of God that camest from Iuda? And he sayde, I am.

15. అప్పుడు అతడునా యింటికి వచ్చి భోజనము చేయుమనగా

15. He sayde vnto him: Come home with me, and eate bread.

16. అతడునేను నీతోకూడ మరలి రాజాలను, నీ యింట ప్రవేశింపను, మరియు నీతో కలిసి ఈ స్థలమందు అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొనను

16. He aunswered: I may not returne with thee, to go in with thee: neither wyl I eate bread, or drinke water with thee in this place.

17. నీవు అచ్చట అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొనవద్దనియు, నీవు వచ్చిన మార్గమున పోవుటకు తిరుగవద్దనియు యెహోవా వాక్కుచేత నాకు సెలవాయెనని చెప్పెను.

17. For it was saide to me in the word of the Lord: Thou shalt eate no bread, nor drinke water there, nor turne againe to go by the way that thou camest.

18. అందుకతడునేనును నీవంటి ప్రవక్తనే; మరియు దేవదూత యొకడుయెహోవాచేత సెలవుపొంది అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొనుటకై అతని నీ యింటికి తోడుకొని రమ్మని నాతో చెప్పెనని అతనితో అబద్ధమాడగా

18. He saide vnto him: I am a prophet also as well as thou, and an angell spake vnto me in the word of the Lorde, saying: Bryng him againe with thee into thyne house, that he may eate bread, & drinke water. [And] he lyed vnto him.

19. అతడు తిరిగి అతనితోకూడ మరలి పోయి అతని యింట అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొనెను.

19. And so he went againe with him, and did eate bread in his house, and drancke water.

20. వారు భోజనము చేయుచుండగా అతనిని వెనుకకు తోడుకొని వచ్చిన ఆ ప్రవక్తకు యెహోవా వాక్కు ప్రత్యక్ష మాయెను.

20. And it fortuned, that as they sat at the table, the word of the Lorde came vnto the prophet that brought him againe:

21. అంతట అతడు యూదాదేశములోనుండి వచ్చిన దైవజనుని పిలిచియెహోవా ఈలాగున ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చుచున్నాడునీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీకు ఆజ్ఞా పించినదానిని గైకొనక

21. And he cryed vnto the man of God that came from Iuda, saying, Thus saith the Lord: Because thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the Lorde, and hast not kept the commaundement which the Lorde thy God commaunded thee:

22. ఆయన సెలవిచ్చిన నోటి మాట మీద తిరుగబడి నీవు వెనుకకు వచ్చి, నీవు అచ్చట అన్న పానములు పుచ్చుకొనవలదని ఆయన సెలవిచ్చిన స్థలమున భోజనము చేసియున్నావు గనుక, నీ కళేబరము నీ పితరుల సమాధిలోనికి రాకపోవునని యెలుగెత్తి చెప్పెను.

22. But camest backe againe, and hast eaten bread, & druncke water in the place concerning the which the Lorde did say vnto thee, Thou shalt eate no bread, nor dryncke no water: thy carkasse shall not come vnto the sepulchre of thy fathers.

23. అంతట వారు అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొనిన తరువాత అచ్చటి ప్రవక్త తాను వెనుకకు తోడుకొని వచ్చిన ఆ ప్రవక్తకు గాడిదమీద గంత కట్టించెను.

23. And so it came to passe that when he had eaten bread, and druncke, he sadled him the asse, to wit, to the prophet who he had brought againe.

24. అతడు బయలుదేరి మార్గమున పోవుచుండగా ఒక సింహము అతనికి ఎదురుపడి అతని చంపెను. అతని కళేబరము మార్గమందు పడియుండగా గాడిద దాని దగ్గర నిలిచి యుండెను, సింహమును శవముదగ్గర నిలిచి యుండెను.

24. And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slue him: and his carkasse was cast in the way, & the asse stoode thereby, and the lion stoode by the corse also.

25. కొందరు మనుష్యులు ఆ చోటికి వచ్చి శవము మార్గమందు పడియుండు టయు, సింహము శవముదగ్గర నిలిచియుండుటయు చూచి, ఆ ముసలిప్రవక్త కాపురమున్న పట్టణమునకు వచ్చి ఆ వర్తమానము తెలియజేసిరి.

25. And men that passed by sawe the carcasse cast in the way, & the lion standing by the carcasse: and they came and tolde it in the towne where the olde prophet dwelt.

26. మార్గములోనుండి అతని తోడు కొని వచ్చిన ఆ ప్రవక్త ఆ వర్తమానము వినినప్పుడుయెహోవా మాటను ఆలకింపక తిరుగబడిన దైవజనుడు ఇతడే; యెహోవా సింహమునకు అతని అప్పగించి యున్నాడు; యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన ప్రకారము అది అతని చీల్చి చంపెను అని పలికి

26. And when the prophet that brought him backe againe from the way heard thereof, he sayd: It is the man of God, he was disobedient vnto the word of the Lorde, and therefore the Lord hath deliuered him vnto the lion, which hath rent him, & slaine him according to the word of the Lorde which he spake vnto him.

27. తన కుమారులను పిలిచిగాడిదకు నాకొరకు గంత కట్టుడని చెప్పెను. వారు అతనికొరకు గంత కట్టినప్పుడు

27. And he spake to his sonnes, saying: Sadle me an asse: And they sadled him.

28. అతడు పోయి అతని శవము మార్గమందు పడి యుండుటయు, గాడిదయు సింహమును శవముదగ్గర నిలిచి యుండుటయు, సింహము గాడిదను చీల్చివేయక శవమును తినక యుండుటయు చూచి

28. And he went, and founde his body cast in the way, and the asse and the lion stoode by the corse, and the lion had not eaten the carcasse, nor hurt the asse.

29. దైవజనుని శవము ఎత్తి గాడిదమీద వేసికొని తిరిగి వచ్చెను. ఈ ప్రకారము ఆ ముసలి ప్రవక్త అంగలార్చుటకును సమాధిలో శవమును పెట్టుటకును పట్టణమునకు వచ్చెను.

29. And the prophet toke vp the body of the man of God, and layde it vpon the asse, and brought it againe: and the olde prophet came to the citie to lament, and to burie him.

30. అతడు తన సమాధిలో ఆ శవమును పెట్టగా జనులుకటకటా నా సహోదరుడా అని యేడ్చిరి.

30. And he layde his body in his owne graue, and then lamented ouer him [saying] Alas my brother.

31. మరియు ఇతడు సమాధిలో శవమును పెట్టినేను మరణ మైనప్పుడు దైవజనుడైన యితడు పెట్టబడిన సమాధిలో నన్ను పాతి పెట్టుడి; నా శల్యములను అతని శల్యముదగ్గర ఉంచుడి,

31. And when he had buryed him, he spake to his sonnes, saying: When I am dead, see that ye burie me in the sepulchre wherein the man of God is buried: laye my bones beside his bones.

32. యెహోవా మాటనుబట్టి బేతేలులోనున్న బలిపీఠమునకు విరోధముగాను, షోమ్రోను పట్టణములో నున్న ఉన్నత స్థలములలోని మందిరములన్నిటికి విరోధము గాను, అతడు ప్రకటించినది అవశ్య ముగా సంభవించునని తన కుమారులతో చెప్పెను.

32. For the saying which he cryed at the word of the Lorde against the aulter in Bethel, and against all the houses of hie places which are in the cities of Samarie, shall come to passe.

33. ఈ సంగతియైన తరువాత యరొబాము తన దుర్మార్గ మును విడిచిపెట్టక, సామాన్యజనులలో కొందరిని ఉన్నత స్థలములకు యాజకులుగా నియమించెను. తనకిష్టులైన వారిని యాజకులుగా ప్రతిష్ఠించి వారిని ఉన్నత స్థలములకు యాజకులుగా నియమించెను.

33. Howbeit, for all that Ieroboam conuerted not from his wicked way: but turned backe, and made of the lowest of the people priestes of the hie places: And who so pleased him, he filled his hand, and he became priest of the hie places.

34. యరొబాముసంతతివారిని నిర్మూలము చేసి భూమిమీద ఉండకుండ నశింపజేయునట్లుగా ఇది వారికి పాపకారణమాయెను.

34. And this thing turned to sinne vnto the house of Ieroboam, euen to destroy him, and to bring him to naught from of the face of the earth.
